Star of ‘Last of a Breed’ on The Sportsman Channel is JFG’s Latest Client
LOCKPORT, N.Y. — J. Fitzgerald Group, a full-service integrated digital and traditional marketing communications firm based in Lockport, N.Y. serving local, regional and international clients, has been named the marketing agency for Laramy “Sasquatch” Miller, star of “Last of a Breed” on The Sportsman Channel.
Miller, a native of Colorado, truly lives up to the nickname “Sasquatch,” standing an impressive 6’ 7” and weighing in at 270 pounds. Unlike the Sasquatch of lore, however, Miller has become highly recognizable among hunters and wilderness enthusiasts for his use of traditional approaches to hunting and survival. He uses only his own hand-made bow and a .54-caliber Hawken rifle when hunting and survives off the land, employing the most basic of tools and techniques to thrive in all conditions.
From a young age, Miller was influenced by his uncles – Dirk and Colt Ross – who helped him learn how to be self-sufficient and thrive in the tough Rocky Mountains. After their death in a plane crash in 1995 while scouting for elk in Colorado, Miller continued to pursue a career as a modern-day mountain man, striving to teach the next generation of hunters how to successfully track game animals using only the equipment available to the hunters and trappers of the mid-1800s. Since starting his professional career as a mountain guide in Colorado, he has expanded his knowledge on hunts across the country and around the globe, and today works to provide the world with educational and exciting hunting programming to inspire new hunters and show them that today’s technology doesn’t make a sportsman successful.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Laramy and help him grow his brand even further,” said Jack Martin, president and co-owner of J. Fitzgerald Group (JFG). “’Sasquatch’ is definitely a ‘big’ opportunity for JFG. He’s a unique and charismatic individual with a vast knowledge of the wilderness, so it’s easy to see why so many people love to watch his shows. We look forward to working with him to promote his show and his way of life.”
JFG’s immediate work with Miller will include the development of a new website to give current and new fans a place to learn about his hunts and exploits all across North America. In addition, JFG will develop a new logo and tagline for Miller’s merchandise and apparel, build tradeshow materials, and assist with his visibility online through search engine optimization and social media management.
“The show is all about honoring the people who founded this country and the old ways of hunting,” Miller said. “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve wanted to live off the land – tracking and hunting the way our forefathers did. Nothing is staged with this show; what you see is exactly what I encounter.
“Marketing is so important to what I’m doing with the show, and JFG was just a perfect fit for me; their approach and attitudes are exactly what I’ve been looking for,” Miller said. “This is just a great partnership.”
Miller’s new show, “Last of a Breed,” premieres this July on The Sportsman Channel. Watch your local listings for details on airtimes this summer.
