JFG Designs New Website for Lockport’s Historic Palace Theatre

When Lockport’s Historic Palace Theatre needed a new website design and corresponding marketing collateral, they applied to be part of J. Fitzgerald Group’s 2016 CreateAthon, our annual 24-hour blitz of pro bono work for local non-profit organizations.

As part of the CreateAthon, JFG put together a proposed website design and produced a brochure and pocket folder. The Theatre’s management team later contracted with JFG to turn the website design into reality.

Built in 1925, the Theatre is a living homage to Lockport’s heyday as a cultural and economic center. It boasts original murals, a proscenium arch around the stage, and intricate grillwork covering the pipes of the original Wurlitzer organ.

It was important that the new website have a modern, accessible design but still showcase the history for which the Palace Theatre is known.

JFG delivered. Built on WordPress, the new website is modern and fully responsive. It includes a revamped events calendar, a simplified online registration form for the Theatre’s Performing Arts School, easy access to audition and volunteer information, and a news blog. The Theatre’s historic marquee, stage, and intricate interior design are featured prominently in a slideshow on the home page.
